Schools Networks: Recruitment of a Chair of the Programme Management Group

ESDGC Schools Networks is a currently informally constituted organisation working with teachers and other educators to support development and implementation of Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship:
- supporting embedding of ESDGC in the curriculum, infusing it throughout the life of the school;
- enabling educators to have access to ideas, resources and support and enabling them to be proactive in developing the implementation of ESDGC;
- facilitating and contributing to the development of a ‘joined up’ approach to ESDGC in schools, nationally and regionally.
Financially supported by the Department for International Development and the Welsh Assembly Government, Schools Networks have been established across many parts of Wales. Local networks have organised, for example, continuing professional development opportunities for teachers, curriculum projects, and school based work in primary and secondary schools. ESDGC Schools Networks is now at a stage in which it wishes to increase its influence on education policy and practice, improving its effectiveness of support for educators. As a result the organisation is going through significant changes in its management, in the development of long term plans, and in assessing future structures and work processes.
To assist in those developments the organisation is looking for a new Chair of its recently reformed Programme Management Group, someone with strong leadership skills, the ability to think strategically, communicate effectively, be an excellent ambassador, and a supporter of lead staff of the organisation.
