Cyfanfyd Training for Trainers Course in ESDGC
June 15th – 18th 2009
Trainers working in school, youth and adult education gathered at Broneirion Conference Centre in June for Cyfanfyd’s most recent ‘Training for Trainers in ESDGC’ course. As usual participants welcomed the opportunity to work across the sectors to explore aspects of ESDGC in depth, to develop their knowledge and to devise strategies for coping with the sometimes contentious issues inherent within ESDGC.
There were opportunities to focus on BME and Southern voices within ESDGC; learn how to communicate the messages of climate change effectively and to experience how young people of the WYFSD (Wales Youth Forum for Sustainable Development) engage in peer education to raise awareness of ESDGC amongst their contemporaries.
The mood was very positive and energy levels remained high throughout the three days of the course this was reflected in the feedback received from participants at the end of the course.
“I feel very motivated and much more well equipped to carry out training on ESDGC.”
“Having no confidence that I knew anything about ESDGC it was a brilliant course to give me that confidence.”
“Superb! A huge amount of information to digest which I’m hoping will help direct my work in future.”
“Brilliant. So varied, stimulating, practical, fun. Immediately useable practical strategies (and such a wide range) and not remotely patronising.”
Training for Trainers in ESDGC will run again from 1-3 December 2009 and will be preceded by an Introduction to ESDGC course on 24 September 2009. For more information about either of these courses please contact annette@cyfanfyd.org.uk.
