Training for Trainers in Education For Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship

An essential event for trainers/tutors with some experience of delivering training in ESDGC in any educational setting (e.g. formal such as teacher trainers, LEA advisors or non-formal such as youth work tutors, adult education tutors, community development tutors). The aim of the course is to enhance participants’ practice and develop participants’ confidence as trainers in ESDGC by:

• Exploring links and connections between the areas of Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship.
• Raising and discussing the often difficult and contentious issues inherent within Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship, including those of justice, equality, inclusion, stereotyping and personal responsibility.
• Discussing techniques, approaches, and strategies for thinking critically about effective Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC).
• Reflecting on participants’ own training practice and discussing / sharing practical ways in which to deliver training on Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship.
