Mae ymchwilwyr yn Athrofa Prifysgol Cymru, Caerdydd wrthi ar hyn o bryd yn gwneud gwaith ymchwil sy’n archwilio dealltwriaeth, profiadau a chanfyddiadau pobl ifanc mewn perthynas â ffydd a rhywioldeb.
Bydd y prosiect hwn yn canolbwyntio ar bobl ifanc rhwng 16 a 19 oed (gyda’r posibilrwydd o ymestyn yr ystod hon i gynnwys pobl ifanc rhwng 11 a 19) sy’n perthyn i grefydd benodol ac yn ymwneud â hi mewn ffordd weithredol. Y gobaith yw y bydd yr ymchwil yn ehangu’r llenyddiaeth a dealltwriaeth academaidd am brofiadau pobl ifanc a gwirioneddau rhywioldeb a sut y mae hyn yn rhyngweithio â phwysigrwydd cynyddol ffydd i bobl ifanc mewn cymdeithas yng Nghymru heddiw.
Bydd yr ymchwil yn digwydd ar ffurf grwpiau ffocws a chyfweliadau anffurfiol a byddai’n cael ei chynnal mewn lleoliadau sy’n hygyrch i’r rhai sy’n cymryd rhan yn yr ymchwil. I am Thangam George from Bangalore, India. I work as a Program Manager for’ Sexual health Intervention Project’ working specifically with street and working children and also with slum children who are out of school. The objective of the project is to build awareness and motivate safe sex practices among these children who are more vulnerable and have an early sex debut. The project believes in motivating adolescents to have Happy Healthy and Responsible lives. In order to do so a regiment of staff is trained across three large states , say about 200 of them, who in turn are from various organizations. Some are from faith based organizations as well and others are either Hindus or Muslims.
We are in the process of trying to understand :
1. How have these organizations understood/perceived sexuality of adolescents
2. How have these individuals perceived sexuality of adolescents
3. Has the faith influenced them in any way
We are using semi structured interviews with the adult respondents who are part of the management or are working on this project with the children.
It would be interesting to be part of the research you are doing to strengthen these findings as well. Kindly do let us know how can we be a part of your study and do keep us informed about its developments
